To mark National Poetry Day (2nd October 2025), local poets are invited to submit a short video of themselves performing an original poem for The Big Screen. With over 25,000 people passing by each week, this is a fantastic opportunity to reach new audiences and bring poetry to the streets of Portsmouth.
Poets can submit a 2-3 minute video, with selected entries screened throughout National Poetry Day. With Portsmouth’s strong literary heritage and growing creative scene, Big Screen Poetry promises to be an inspiring addition to the city’s cultural landscape.
