Southsea is a very unique seafront town, home to many historic attractions, businesses and local residents. Over the past few years Southsea Coastal Scheme has been working on a new coastal defence project, this to help prevent future flooding in Southsea. Back in 2020 the government awarded almost £100m to this sea defence project. The construction of our new coastal defences is due for completion in 2028.
