About Pompey Poetry Party

Founded by local writers Cecily Holland and Caroline Brennan, Pompey Poetry Party was created as a welcoming space for all, giving voice to both seasoned poets and those new to the art. With a mix of featured artists and open mic slots, it’s an inclusive, supportive environment where all levels can participate. The Party brings together Portsmouth’s poetry enthusiasts, fostering community and connection, while celebrating the transforming power of the spoken word.

How to Get Involved

Want to share your words? Just turn up to secure an open mic slot — no booking necessary! Slots operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are usually limited to 10 minutes per performance, depending on the night’s lineup.
