Portsmouth residents have begun exploring the revamped Southsea promenade, stretching from Blue Reef to the Pyramids. This section reopened following the completion of the latest phase in the ongoing sea defence project. A standout feature of the new coastal walk is the split-level, terraced promenade, known as the "theatre of the sea," which encircles Southsea Castle and provides an area to relax and watch the ships sail by.
Portsmouth City Council said 145,000 tonnes of rock was placed in this area! Additional attractions include tide pools, a boulder garden for children, new seating, listening posts, wildflower gardens, and a renovated bandstand in Bandstand Field.
